Coq Lakes Camping - Oct
2nd/2008
There where 7 trailers or campers and 13 machines. Scott and Jack
from Vernon, then Allen, Brenda, Martina and Katherine from Enderby,
Ray from Enderby, John from Langley, Nesell and Nicole from Westbank,
Nick and Ingrid from Kamloops and Linda and Rick from Kamloops.
Nick, Ingrid, Ray, Scott, Jack, Allen, Brenda, Martina and Katherine
went south on Friday down towards the Carolina Mines then over
towards Spuzzum. Jack broke an axle so he and Brenda, Martina and
Katherine helped him back to camp. The rest of them forged on to
approximately a 140 mile ride. They said it was a camera ride and
just beautiful.
On Saturday we all left camp at the east side of the lake up to
Larson Hill camping area, there Brenda, Katherine, Martina, Ingrid
and Nick did some riding in the lower areas. When the rains hit Nick
had to tow the kids up some of the hills to get back as they had
turned into rivers. The rest of us headed up through Brokemere then
into the mountains coming out over top of our camping rear. The ride
was about 80 kilometers and 5 hours. Great views some pretty good
side hills and great company. I know Linda wasn’t really impressed
with the side hills but other then that it was great.
Sunday we woke up to views of that white stuff up and the hills we
rode the day before, some of us optimists waited for a few hours for
the weather to break but no such luck. We all packed up and headed
home. Great people, great conversation around the camp fire, Allen,
Brenda, John and I solved many of the world problems around the
campfire Friday night and a little of Saturday morning.
