GKAA                                    June 9, 2010    Meeting Minutes

 

Meeting started at 6:00

Bill stated Bank balance once all cheques have cleared to be $1915.00

 

Rick received a letter from Vernon club thanking GKAA for a great ride May 30th. Ken said this ride turned out to be the best ever.  A letter will be sent out thanking the farmers for their co-operation.

There likely will be a write up regarding the ride in Riders West and on ATV BC.

 

Land Use Directorship Change: Nic Scown accepted position as Land Use Director as Shaun felt he himself could not do the position justice.  Motioned by Chris Hardy - Seconded by Rick Vowles.

 

Lafarge has approached the club for a Safety Demonstration.  This is still in the discussion stage. Chris Hardy has offered two dealer machines for use. Rick Vowles and Nic Scown are looking into doing the demonstration.

No Meeting in July and August, any necessary communications will be via email.  Next regular scheduled meeting will be September 8, 2010 at ABC Family Restaurant.

Chris Hardy will look into possibly representing GKAA with ATV BC.  To be discussed again at a later date.

Nic Scown advised members that the Forestry will be stepping up enforcement on forestry roads regarding, speeding, insurance/licensing and helmets.

UTV Raises will be held at Whispering Pines June 27, 2010

TRU GPS course tentatively set for July 10 will be 7.5 hours- minimum participants 10 to a max of 15. 

Cost expected to be $85.  If more then 15 participants splitting the course in to two weekends may be an option.

 

Safety Course put on by Nic Scown.  Tentatively set for July 25 in Barnhartvale, Nic will contact those members that signed up at the meeting.  Others interested can contact Nic direct 250-573-5745 or check out the GKAA Website http://www.gkaa.ca
